Snagging

In short

Snagging is CAFMTEK's field inspection and defect capture module. Genuine defects convert automatically into work orders with SLAs, while clean condition records close as asset survey baselines.

Applies to: Available inside CAFMTEK and as the standalone CONDTEK product

A snagging round produces two kinds of finding, and most systems only handle one.

Some items are defects that need fixing. Those convert automatically into work orders with their own SLA, so they enter the same queue as everything else rather than sitting on a list someone has to chase.

The rest are records of equipment that is fine. Those close as asset survey baselines, which means the round has produced a condition record for the asset rather than nothing.

Why the second part matters

A snag list that only captures problems tells you what was wrong on one day. A round that also records what was right gives you a condition baseline you can compare against later.

That baseline is what turns an inspection from a task into data.

Snagging and CONDTEK

Snagging is a CAFMTEK module. The same capability is also sold as a standalone solution under the CONDTEK brand for organisations that need field inspection and condition survey without a full CAFM system.

If you are running CAFMTEK, snagging is already part of it.

How it connects to other modules

  • Asset Management receives the condition baseline against the asset record.
  • Task Management runs the work orders that defects convert into.
  • Facilities Management supplies the location each finding is recorded against.

Frequently asked questions

Do defects become work orders automatically?
Yes. Genuine defects convert into work orders with SLAs.

What happens to items that are not defects?
They close as asset survey baselines, so the round produces a condition record rather than being discarded.

Is Snagging the same as CONDTEK?
The capability is the same. Snagging is the module inside CAFMTEK. CONDTEK is the standalone product for organisations that need it without a full CAFM system.
